Great craic, weather and some nice shots this past weekend. Some more Killarney landscapes added to the gallery.

A lovely May day and a wee trip to Donegal for some great landscapes and panoramas.

I was at the rally shooting at stages 6, 9 and 12. When I arrived for the last stage on Friday evening the weather had really improved with fast drying roads, but still a lot of standing water and mud dragged onto the roads made for an interesting final stage of the day. Where I was, Henry's just acquired Skoda touched the ditch and 40 meters later went through a fence, cleared a shough and ended the right way up in the field....lucky lad. 2 new rear wheels later, and spectators helped him out of the field and back onto the stage, sadly he didn't come out to play on Saturday. And what a great day Saturday was, sunny, dry and warm, all of which made for great photos at two locations on the stage.

I was at the rally on Saturday which, as usual, was well run and with the good weather, it was pleasant to stand, spectate and take photos. There was a great entry in both the historics and the modified sections with only one negative, and that is that there are fewer owners of historic cars bringing them out onto the stages.....plenty of Escorts, some Minis, some Sunbeams and Avengers, some Porsches, a Saab and a Cortina but where are the other marques that rallied back in the day?

I will be heading down for this years event, and going by the entry list, it should be a great rally. 6 stages packed into one day and they are epic rally roads. hopefully I'll be getting some good shots of the cars and their crews, and maybe get a few great landscape shots too.

I went to Switzerland via the Alsance region France, and took a lot of shots. Switzerland and the Alsance area are beautiful, and I intend to get back to both places again.

Recently I was at in Baveno, on Lago Maggiore, Italy and visited a number of places and was able to get a lot of great shots...one finished shot is the panorama from the Simplon Pass. It is a 10 shot panorama which should print to about 5feet x 18". The Simplon Pass goes from Italy to Switzerland, and is the only pass in Europe that is open every day of the year.

Two words describe the whole day...Totally Awesome. Great weather, great cars, and very few accidents and retirements. I got shots of nearly all the cars on all the stages, but the two that stood out for me were Robert Woodside's Porsche...the sound, and Kieran O'Kane's Ascona...the sound plus the sideways action.
